Camping Food

You want to bring foods that are straightforward to store and keep fresh.

You have to include nibbles for the trail as well as foods to make arrangements for each meal. Breakfast begin the day off right with a breakfast which will get you prepared for a day of hiking or exploring. Cut up some mushrooms, onions, bacon and potatoes and griddle in a pan over the fire until done. Mix eggs with a little milk and tip over the blend to heat until the eggs are entirely cooked. This is a great pan meal that’s straightforward to prepare and clean up. Another straightforward meal to prepare is a breakfast taco. Cook some eggs and place inside a tortilla with cheese and picante sauce.

If youare feeling a little more intrepid, try a breakfast pizza using pre-prepared crusts and eggs. You can cook the eggs any way you like them and add bacon, potatoes or sausage. Lunch Keep lunch really easy to prepare and clean up so you get back to your journeys. Sandwiches are a great dinner time treat using easy to store and prepare foods. Gore Tex Bivy Cover

Cut lunch meats with veg on bread make the best pick me up. For a hot side plate to go with the sandwiches take some frozen chips, chili and cheese sauce, mix them in foil, wrapping it strongly. Throw the package on the fire and cook till the fries are cooked thru and then enjoy your gooey chili cheese fries. Dinner Dinner composed of a good stew is a sensible choice. Using canned plants, mix equal proportions of your favourites in a heavy pot. These can include corn, peas and beans. Add two cans of catsup and two cans of sliced tomatoes and boil slowly over an open fire for a filling stew. If you went fishing and were adequately lucky to make a catch, fry it for dinner. After cleaning the fish, cut it into fillets. Mix one can of lager with 2 eggs until comprehensively mixed. To that add 12 oz of flour, 2 spoons of baking powder and pepper and salt to sample. Dip the fish in cornstarch then the batter. Place it in hot oil and fry till the batter puffs. This is a way to enjoy the efforts put forth after a day of fishing.

Trail Nibbles No camping trek is complete without nibbles to prepare and bring while you are out on a nature hike. Walking and hiking is troublesome work so you want to bring some foods which will help raise your energy. Popcorn popped over an open flame is an enjoyable way to prepare the day after’s break. Trail mix is a conventional option and is limited to only your inventiveness. Use a mix of hearty ingredients with candy. Blend granola, raisins, chocolate chips, M & M’s, cereal, dried fruits and nuts. Use whatever combos you like. My favourite camping meals though, are made with pudgie pie makers ( also called pie irons ). Our family uses pudgie pie makers to meal heavenly gifts for lunch and dinner.

Bread is the staple ingredient in making a pudgie pie. To make one, butter 2 slices of bread. Place the buttered side down in the pudgie pie maker. This can stop the bread from sticking. Place a cheese cut on top of each piece of bread. Close the pudgie pie maker. Place in the coals of your campfire. It’ll only take 1 or 2 minutes for the pie to cook. Watch your sandwich closely. Depending on how hot your fire is, the sandwich will cook very swiftly. Ham and tomato are also excellent additions to your cheese sandwich. Pizza pudgie pies are preferred by our family too.

Again, butter two bits of bread and place the buttered side down in the pudgie pie maker. Add your favourite pizza toppings ( ours are canned pizza sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese ). Close the pudgie pie maker and place in the coals of your campfire to cook. Take care when removing pudgie pies from your pudgie pie maker. Both the pudgie pie maker and your sandwich will be very hot. Another fave sort of pudgie pie that our family enjoys are pudding ones. Cook in the fire and enjoy. And naturally, no camping expedition is complete without making smores. Theyalso are simple to make. Once your marshmallow is warm and gooey, stick it on top of a graham cracker and a bit of a chocolate bar, and then crown with another graham cracker. Cooking while camping can actually be lots of fun. Preparing foods should be straightforward and need only a little clean up and use few saucepans. At the end of the night, though, no camping expedition would be completed without toasting marshmallows. Cut some branches and skewer enormous marshmallows. Hold each stick over the flame until brown and toasty. More here… Solar Camping Gear.
