But, do you know what you’re going to pack? Are you prepared for hot days, cold nights, blazing sun and freezing waters?
For a handy list of what to pack for your Alaska fishing tour, read on. However, be advised that this packing list is for people going on a chartered or guided trip and is not intended as a complete guide for others planning an independent or self-catering camping expedition.
Equipment
Exactly what fishing gear you wind up bringing will likely depend on what’s provided by your tour or charter company. Some guides provide a full outfit, right down to a cooler to store your fish, bait and tackle. Others only supply the boat and the safety gear. Comfortable Rain Gear

For added comfort and even survival, you want to pack sunglasses, gloves, a hat, strong bug repellent, sunscreen and your personal items.
While your charter guide should have a complete first aid and survival kit on board or with you, you should always pack your own small, personal survival kit as well. Paintball Gear

Having the proper paintball gear does not limit to paintball markers, hopper, tank and paintball mask alone. You should also consider having those little paintball gear stuffs that you think is not important. Extra safety paintball gear and equipments can mean a lot of difference between enjoying the day and not getting to play because of injury or defective equipments.
You should always bring your gun manual and gun schematics along whenever you go out to play. You will never know when you’re going to dismantle or disassemble your paintball markers. But remember that manuals and schematics are useless without those allen wrenches right? You must have one set handy available at all times.
Don’t forget to bring spare batteries with you. Don’t let small things like a dead battery ruin your fun in the battlefield. Neck guards are good protection from painful shots in the neck. Opt for a lightweight wrap around strap for comfort. Wearing thigh cups is also a good idea. You will never know where you’re going to be shot at with all the action in the field. Shin guards, gloves and elbow pads are also handy when it comes to running, dodging and crawling in the field. A little advice, don’t ever take chances when it comes to the eyes. Replace those cracked or scratched paintmask, even if they are only scratched because they were hit at close range. Always have an extra paintmask available.
So many paintball marker problems can easily be fixed like replacing the cupseal and o-rings. These are small but very important parts that easily break and can cause your paintball marker to malfunction. To have an efficient paintball marker you must always lubricate it every now and then. Bring a paintball marker oil always with you whenever playing. Also have an extra squeegee when you are out in the field. You will never know that you might need it to get rid of some substance that is stuck in your barrel.
Once you get to know your paintball gear, you will have some decent idea on what kind of paintball gear and equipment to bring along with you. Don’t forget the tweezers, pliers and screwdrivers. These tools are very essential in your paintball gear. Also don’t forget to bring along some bolts, screws, springs, Teflon and, yes, duct tape.
It would hurt if you also bring along some first aid kits. A lot of things happen on the paintball field. You might not able to use it, but hey, it pays to be ready.
The main idea is to be prepared and ready at all times because if ever something comes up or all problems break loose, you would be ready for it.

Jigs
A lot of experienced fishermen and women stand by jigs (heavy baits with one hook) as being the most useful all around baits, especially in clear to slightly murky waters. Spinner baits are year-round lures that especially work well during the spawning season when bass are less desperate to feed.
Crank Baits
Crank lures work by imitating the motion of an injured fish and are used as top water lures or as sinkers. In addition, the cranking noise attracts the bass but the approach needs to be slow in order to give the impression of a fish the bass can easily feed off.
Top Water Poppers
While poppers are similar to crank baits, they are set aside solely as a top water lure. They make a popping noise as they move across water and are best used in the summer, when slow reeling is the way to go.
Grubs
Grubs can be especially useful for smallmouth fishing, as they are geared towards larger catches. Grubs are bare jig heads with a soft-plastic body added to a hook. When a highland reservoir is short of ample cover, this type of lure is extremely successful. Grubs are most effective in deep, clear waters, with smoke, salt and pepper, yellow and white being the best colors to use.
Target Your Bass with Tube Baits
When surrounded with inactive fish or angling in clear water, tube jigs target the bass wonderfully. A 6 to 6.5 foot rod with medium action and a spinning reel is best for these shallow water drop baits.
Vibrating Lures
Plastic or metal is used to create the vibrating lures that generate a tremor when retrieved out of the water. The lure sinks to the bottom and does not get lost in particularly deep waters. A variety of spinner baits are offered in this category, including tailspinners, which are heavy, compact baits of metal that uses a small spinner to attract the bass. Use vibrating lures when fishing about stumps, close to river currents, on deep channel drop-offs, and over waterlogged grass beds.

When anglers are in their boats, sweating bullets in the sweltering heat , the last thing they want to do is deal with is glare. The glare of the sun rays tend to be very bothersome when you are already frustrated from the heat and fish that won’t bite.
Today, polarized fishing glasses are pretty much a permanent fixture in a fisherman’s equipment. Novices might think that standard sunglasses will be enough and provide the right protection, but there are some problems with standard sunglasses on the water. Polarized Fishing Glasses have a polarized film added to the lens. The film has microscopic lines that serve as a filter to block the horizontal light that is reflected towards the eye as it bounces off of the water’s flat surface. The polarized lens cuts the glare of rays that hit the water, so the glasses replace the glare, while still providing the ability to see into the water.
When anglers see deeper in the water, they are able identify spawn beds, schools of fish, structures, and drop-offs. However, improved visibility is not the only benefit of polarized fishing glasses. We purchased our lake home almost six years ago. We love our acre of paradise. Our lives have changed more than I would have expected when we decided to move to the lake. We spend less time on doing things that we used to enjoy like going to movies, seeing plays and going to concerts. We now spend our time fishing, boating, tubing and entertaining the many guests that come to share our lake home.
We have always enjoyed entertaining. I have found that entertaining when you live by the lake is a bit different. You need to stock up on towels, suntan lotion, sunburn lotions, water toys, fishing supplies and extra lawn chairs. Now that we live on the lake we tend to be the choice for summer and winter family gatherings. This is alright to a certain point, but there are times when my husband and I would like to pack the cooler with a couple of sandwiches and a few beers and head out onto the lake with some fishing supplies and just the two of us. This year we have decided that at least one weekend each month we will not have anyone come over and we will not go anywhere. Starting on Friday night we will let the answering machine pick up our phone calls and we are going to spend time together on the lake, in the lake and by the lake.
Prior to moving to the lake my husband did a great deal of fishing. He had a fair amount of tackle, a small fishing boat, and a portable ice fishing house. Since we have moved to the lake we have bought a bigger boat a large wheeled ice fishing house and many fishing supplies. There are times when people stop by and they do not have the right equipment for the kind of fishing that will be done, so my husband feels he needs to have the gear to outfit them. I have gotten to the point that I tell people that they do not need to bring any fishing supplies because my husband has so much of it. He had become good friends with the owner of a local bait and tackle shop. I have told the owner of the shop that if he ever runs out of fishing supplies he can send people over to our house because I think we have a larger stock than he does.
I hope that our plan to enjoy our lake home together will work out for us. We do feel so blessed living in such a beautiful area that we want to share with others, but it is important to also have some alone time.

My fly fishing trip in alaska make me realized not to leave home without trusted baby care products, and 12v coffee maker

Now, as in all trips, no matter how much preparation that you do for your outing, there are bound be hiccups. And the hiccups would be amplified if it is a camping trip, where you really have to depend on your preparation…
It was almost a year ago when we took our Alaska Fly Fishing Trip and although I must admit that the trip was fantastic, we were glad of something done right and lament for something that was not done.
The best thing that we did remember for our fly fishing in alaska was packed by my wife and it was so useful that I am going to remind all if possible to never leave home without it. That would be the Baby Care Products that we used to carry when my daughter was much younger.
We call it by its Chinese name as Ru Yi oil and this infant care products treats everything from colic to mosquitoes bites. And insect bites is what this Rui Yi oil is most effective against.
Of course, no matter how wild is Alaska, mosquitoes still can find its way there. And there are loads of mosquitoes down there during summer, so the Baby Care Products that my wife has packed works wonder not only in relieving the pain, but also keep those nasty insects at bay.
The Ru Yi Oil is so effective that other fly fishers even want to buy it from us. If I had known that it is so good, I would have brought a few more, and it might earn us some meals.
Speaking of meals, the next thing that I wished I had brought along is a 12 Volt Coffee Maker . While it is true that this coffee maker might not brew the best coffee but compared to burn coffee that is already cold when stored in thermal flask, I guess the former can be consider to be gourmet coffee.
That is really the coffee we had for those few days that we spent fly fishing, sometimes sour, many times bitter and at times bland. At that time, the ability to have any coffee makers to brew myself a decent cuppa is appreciated.
So, that is the reason why I feel that this trip would be really complete if we have brought our 12v coffee maker along.
