Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 31, 2010
If you also share similar thoughts as I do, you’d know that Soccer training tips for goalkeepers have a great importance as he/she is the only player that has the freedom to touch the ball with hands and arms both.
For this reason, the soccer skills of a goalie give him an advantage over all the other players on the field. But this makes a coach’s job tougher and more complex when training goalkeepers for soccer.
Goalkeepers in soccer are more often than not, the first line of offence and the last line of defense, based on the playing skill. They wouldn’t mind using their body in every possible way to stop the ball or obstruct a shot from getting inside the goal. They are all so set to proceed in any direction when it comes to getting the possession of the ball.
Goalkeeper’s training for soccer on different skills and techniques can be one tough job depending upon their role requirements and level of play. This also requires you to take into consideration his mental state and train him on various skills accordingly.
In terms of comparison, only a striker can match the skills and enthusiasm of a goalkeeper. Almost all goalies have essentially played as goal hungry strikers at one point or the other in their soccer careers. You’ll be able to encounter frequent one on one battle between the goalie and the forwards at different levels of competition.
In soccer training tips, it’s necessary for a goalkeeper to stay balanced and know the center for gravity of the body. This will improve the activity of the goalie and the state of readiness of the player to make remarkable gains in a game setting.
While a majority of goalkeepers are tall with big hands and long arms but even if it is not the case, they simply compensate for the lack of their physical attributes with good vertical and lateral mobility.
A coach must always remember that though goalkeepers have a good sense of self-worth but even then they need constant motivation. Soccer Goalkeepers need to do their regular warm ups with the team, but then separate from the team and perform the specific soccer drills that will prepare them for the game.
Because goalkeepers have a dominant personality and a sense of control, they are leaders of the team. So they must be supported by the rest of the team to successfully execute their role by being placed in a vocal and demonstrative capacity.
The ball can be handled by the goalie only in the 18 yard box. Anyone other that a goalie who fatefully gets to touch the ball with an arm, ends up winning the opponent a free kick. In the case of the goalie’s team member, it is a penalty shoot from “the spot”.
So go ahead and use these soccer training tips in improving the overall performance of the team by supporting the goalkeeper who’s the leader in the 18 yard box and should be appreciated for that. Fly Fishing Tackle: Greys G Tec 350 Fly Reel Review
Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 31, 2010
As an enthusiastic fly fisherman, I’m always seeking new tackle. Reels are particularly appealing to me. In actuality, I’m somewhat a collector of high quality reels. One that I’ve just added to my assortment is the Greys G
Tec 350. Here’s why I picked it.
Fly Fishing Tackle - Information on the Greys G Tec 350 Fly Reel
This reel is a disc drag large arbour fly fishing reel with a superior price-performance ratio. A United Kingdom product, the G Tec 350 has an advanced design which integrates an established multi-disc drag system. Precision made from bar stock, the fishing reel is equipped with a cageless, large arbour and is exactly balanced. With lots of facility for backing, the 350 comes with a ribbed, soft-touch handle that is simple to grip in all kinds of weather. The strong, firm anodised titanium finish of the high grade aluminium body extends this fishing reel a glossy, elegant look.
Fly Fishing Tackle - Other Qualities of the G Tec 350
The G Tec 350 is equipped with four Rulon disk brake pads to exact impeccable control. Manufactured from a top grade alloy, the fishing reel has a substantial amount of drilled aeration holes which additionally decrease the weight to only 6 ounces (173 grams). The reel’s design is nice-looking, sporting red detailing on the fishing reel foot and a ribbed, soft touch red handle on the spool. The drag control knob is located on the back of the cage. One particular aspect you are confident to love in bitter, damp weather would be the knurling along the outside border of the drag knob which requires just a single turn to switch the drag from none to completely on.
Fly Fishing Tackle - Closing Opinions on the G Tec 350 Fly Reel
It’s really easy to switch out the spool by means of a spring loaded lever situated on the spool. Just manoeuvre the lever and take off the spool. To adapt the fishing reel from left handed to right handed wind, merely take out the spool then take off the retaining cap on the inside of the spool to access the main bearing. Next, simply remove the bearing, flip it over and return the cap. There’s little or no line memory, considering the liberal width of the spool plus the large arbour. Here’s what Greys themselves have to say about this outstanding fishing reel:
Although the reel has a one-of-a-kind look, the way it performs is the key factor. It performs perfectly. Fishers who are competing, Large fish anglers, and anglers who need to land every fish truly welcome the 4 Rulon disc brake pads which extend total control for the entire duration of the battle. Even four weight lines are able to touch down precisely with almost no memory due to its authentically large arbour. Particularly with buzzer work and dry fly, this is very crucial. Each individual feature of the reel emphasises the reel’s excellence including the soft touched, ribbed handle which guarantees a perfect grip in all sorts of weather conditions. Coarse Fishing Tackle in the UK: Getting Geared for Pike
Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 30, 2010
A vast number of anglers in the UK prefer to look for fish other than salmon and trout. These varieties of fish are grouped in a sort designated as “coarse.” Grouped in this sorting are pike, a unique fish that can develop to a weight of 24 kg. Pike are strapping fish with big mouths lined with several rows of teeth. An average sized pike will probably be between 50 cm and 70 cm long, but large types can be as long as 1 metre or even more.
Coarse Fishing Tackle - More Details Concerning Pike
Pike are lone, hostile fish and known to be flesh eaters. They will devour different types of prey, such as fish, amphibians and small mammals , for instance, mice that happen, unfortunately, to fall down into the water. Large pike are acknowledged to be able to prey on ducks. Pike may be fished in a diversity of ways, these include float, leger, lure as well as spinning.
Pike Tackle: Rod and Reel
Pike are powerful, muscular fish which necessitate a stronger than normal rod. Since they are heavier, pike put a more powerful tension on the rod. The same is factual for a reel for pike fishing. It should be able to withstand the extra pressure a strong pike will put on the line. If your reel breaks down with a pike on its line, you’re likely to have to sever the line, which normally means certain death for the fish due to the fact that it will probably be unable to feed with the hook still in its mouth. Invest in the top rod and reel you can afford, because if you’re fishing for pike, your gear will be placed under considerable strain.

If fishing pike, it is beneficial to look for some counsel from your community tackle retailer where they ought to have very good info on what lures are most productive in what spots, and, more significantly, what lures aren’t working.
Coarse Fishing Tackle - Pike Tackle: Miscellaneous Gear

Learn The Philosophy Behind Soccer Coaching
Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 30, 2010
What follows is a simplistic way of bearing in mind the essential Soccer coaching factors ate determine the team philosophy and moving along with it. This philosophy can be applied to your youth team with relative ease as it is easier than you think.
The elements which are essential for an effective youth coaching philosophy are 6; parents, coaches, excitement, selection, time, and success windows.
Regular communication with Parents: When it comes to soccer training, parental influence is the key influence in the mental and physical well being of your players, especially on the day of the match. “Parental responsibilities”, the brochure supplied when the term starts is not sufficient. Meetings with the parents should be set to discuss the concerns and reminding them the important points.
Future soccer coaches: A vital part of your philosophy should not just focus on developing the players, but also the coaches. The kid’s parents can also be considered for soccer coaching. They are the ideal candidates, not necessarily to start immediately, but may be in the future.
Selection: The drop out of players with great soccer skills is mostly because of non-selection. According to studies, players say they would rather get selected for a bad team than not getting selected for a good team. Hence, a fair selection system should be used so that all the players are given equal game time.
Time: Be particular in starting the session on time and also the timely arrival of the parents. Clearly established start times and finish times allow you to plan and deliver the session effectively.
Excitement: Is it a must that each soccer coaching session is interesting? Make an effort to make each session an enjoyable one but do not forget that it is not possible to each session like that. So adopt “excitement” as a substitute for this.
When training the kids, it is certain that the coach will have problems with ideas on how to make practice drills interesting. As such, the biggest hurdle that the coaches face is with regard to the creativity aspect of coming up with fun drills every now and then.
In soccer drills, it makes sense to keep escalating the difficulty aspect so that kids get skilled. A way of doing this is to begin a game, take note of a problem, and then remove it with the help of a soccer drill.
Success windows: Make success windows a part of a season for every training session. This means that you must determine a lower limit and an upper limit of time with a view to measure the level of success that needs to be achieved.
To take an example, time frame of minimum four and maximum eight weeks. This can be worked out for both the team and individual members.
In your interest, embrace a soccer coaching philosophy like this become a part of the development phase of your kid’s training once the basics have been covered. If you would like more such knowledge and resources, subscribe to our youth soccer coaching community.

Equipments For Winter Trip
Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 29, 2010
You can pack all you want for a trip but you may not be able to lift your luggage off the floor afterward. It’s no wonder why some tourists always pay more for their baggages than they expected.
Winter Travel Destinations
Traveling during winter means you can ski and snow board all you want. Select a destination that offers the best amenities. Select a region with a good weather bureau to be safe. Consult a travel agency for the best places where you can spend your winter holiday.
What to Pack for Winter Hiking
Winter hiking? Planning for a theme holiday can be a pain or a pleasure. First of all, you have to consider the activities you’re going to do when you get to the location to plan the gear you’re going to bring. You also need to consider the duration of your stay in the resort or the mountains.
Your Gear
Let’s look at winter hiking boots. Don’t compromise when it comes to the quality of boots you’re bringing along. Keep your feet comfortable during your hike so that you don’t get injured. Snow blindness is a real threat to winter hikers. You should get sunglasses that can transmit 5-10% of visible light and absorb 95% of UV rays..
Look for bright colored markers like flags so that you can mark your route. Also, look for small flares that you can use to signal for help if you ever need to.
A Kit for First Aid
Travel First Aid Kits is a must-have. First aid items are a must if you’re planning an outdoors adventure. Pack splints and bandages just so you can help others too. In fact, you can create a small first aid kit to bring with you anywhere. Trekking is a challenging sport because there are dangers you should deal with. Preparing for small and big injuries is the best way to pack a first aid kit. Bring enough for sharing. You never know which group member might need your first aid kit.
You don’t have to bring much, but you absolutely need unscented soap and anti-allergy medication. Unscented soaps are less likely to cause rashes, which is important if the skin you’re treating is inflamed. Make sure the kit you will be using is watertight. You don’t want to use dripping wet bandages to treat wounds.
Clothes
It’s winter so you’ll need warm clothes. Lightweight clothes can be layered so you can stay warm. This way, if you get too warm, you can take a layer off. Another benefit to using lightweight clothes is that they’re easier to carry because they take up less room.
When considering which items to bring along with you, think about your accommodations. Will you be living inside a tent? Will you be staying in a rented cabin with your hiking buddies? You need to know these things because of laundry reasons. If you have access to a basin and some laundry soap, you can pack less clothes.
Bowling Tips, From Gutterballs to Strikes
Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 29, 2010
Here are some great bowling tips. You don’t have to own your own equipment but if you plan to play a lot, it is a good idea to invest in some of your own equipment. When you buy a ball, you can have it drilled so that it fits your hand just right.
Balls come in all kinds of different colors and weight. A long time ago, the balls where all black and weighted about 16 pounds. Today kids and women enjoy the sport and the weight ranges from 10 to 16 pounds. When you put your fingers through the holes, you don’t want a tight or loose fit. You want it to fit just right.
Now you’re ready to bowl. The way you stand is very important. If you don’t stand correctly the ball won’t deliver the way you want it to.
Everyone starts off as a beginner and can quickly move up into the ranks and become an advance player. You want to get the fundamentals of the game down first. Practice getting the ball to come out of your hands straight before you try a hook or a curve. Your step delivery comes in 3, 4 or 5 steps. This is pending on the body type of which delivery you should use.
Now we can work on the pushaway. The pushaway is the starting point that they ball makes to the hitting of the pins. You move backward and forward the ball off to the side, while your left leg stays in the front.
Now you have your footwork. Once you do your step delivery, the right leg moves back off to the side, while the left leg stays out in front.
The pins that you’re aiming to hit are 5 inches wide. 9 inches wide is the width of the ball. Make an attempt to strike the pin at its core. When you hit one pin, it will make others fall down as well. If you practice a lot at it, you can knock all the pins down in one go.
Now you’re going to want to work on your timing, where the ball makes contact with the floor. Depending on how good you are with this, will determine what kind of a bowler you will be. Perform the same task at home using pillows.
The follow through comes next. The follow through is the motion of your body coming through with the action of something that you started. Your arms will continue to flow on long after you drop the ball. Your hands should stop once you get them to shoulder height. Pinpoint exactly where you want to go and follow through as you would expect in nature. Those are just a few of my bowling tips.
How Ice Racing In Canada Came About And The Classes Of Race Cars Which Are Allowed In Today’s Amateur Races
Posted in Fly Fishing Gear on the August 29, 2010
Ever since the race car was created, people have wanted to race each other. In most of the world it was on ash felt roads, but in places like Denmark it was on the gravel paths which make up almost of their roads. The professional motorsport like World Rallying Championship and F1 owe their origins to these pioneers of ash felt and gravel motor racing. In places like Canada and the Alpine districts of France the racings were not possible because of the snowy weather which covered any road in ice, so they started racing on the icy lakes and rivers and the motor sport of ice racing was invented. The reason why, in these districts of the world, why they did not start motor racing on the roads was because they were too dangerous, as racing on ice is tricky. When you get it wrong you are going to hit something and when that something is a solid tree it’s going to hurt a lot. So by moving their racing onto icy lakes, where the wind tends to push the snow off the lake and pile it up round the lake, this means that when a mistake is made, the motorcars tend to slide off and hit a pile of snow which is a lot softer than a tree.
Ice racing has mainly remained an amateur motor sport, but there is a warm professional league called the Andros Trophy in France. In this professional league they use custom built ice racing cars, but in the world of amateur racing this luxury can rarely be afforded. There are some rules of the motor sport to try and make sure everyone is competing on an balanced playing field. They are four kinds of cars, and they are all limited to a maximum engine size of 3000cc. Class1 is for all rear wheel drive and short wheelbase cars, class2 is for front engine cars with front wheel drive and short wheelbase, class3 is for front engine cars with front wheel drive and a long wheelbase, and class4 is for four-wheel-drive cars. There are two types of races that these classes of vehicles can run in. There are rubber to ice races and metal to ice races. Rubber to ice tyres are standard road tyres with no stance, and metal to ice tyres are rubber tyres with titanium studs in them that seriously increase grip on the ice.
Any type of motor from saloon to small 4×4’s are allowed to race in these ice races, they can have either a manual or automatic gearboxs. They do need to be slightly adapted for safety reasons and for the rubber to ice races all that needs to be done is any plastic lights and plastic around the outside of the motor need to be removed, and the bumpers modified so they will not hook together. Also, the back of the motor is painted with patches of high visibility paint, as visibility can be low when ice racing. With the exception of a race helmet, these are the only modifications required to take part in rubber to ice races. To race in the metal to ice races your motor must be fitted with a roll cage and a four point racing harness, this is because the studded tyres produce a lot more grip and therefore speeds are much higher.
Although not a requirement, it is recommended that you fit a good quality wiper blade. There are numerous types of replacement wiper blades on the market that would meet this requirement. The best replacement wiper blades to fit are flat wiper blades made from silicone, and this is because silicon wiper blades will work quite happily in temperatures as low as -60° C, whilst normal rubber wiper blades will be useless at that temperature when ice racing takes place. The flat wiper blades are recommendedbecause of their frameless design; this means that ice and snow cannot build up on the frame stopping it from following the contours of the windscreen.
